Sleeping loft

The loft is in meaning we are more than halfway done with our walls! Also this means we have a place for our bed when the house is done.

Windows finished

All of the windows are cobbed completely in and the wall is averaging around 6' tall. The loft will most definitely be going in this week.

 Finally have cobbed high enough to put in a few windows. As we continue to cob up the sides of the windows we can round them out to make oval windows.

Kitchen sink

Cut out the hole for the kitchen sink (measured about ten times before I took the jigsaw to our counter) and threw in the sink to see how it looked. Now we just need a faucet and the rest of our walls.

Walls still climbing and shelves going in

Kitchen counter going in

Our walls are finally tall enough to put in our kitchen counters. After much contemplation--aka looking at our budget-- we decided doing earthen counters were our best option. (Check out this link for a sample of cob counters). Total cost of our kitchen counter will be $9 for the lumber and $30 for our sink (photos coming soon).
